Over the years (2008 marked 25 years as a professional photographer) I have refined my business to suit my personal goals. This has allowed me time to support my community which has been so generous to me over the years. As past President of the Kids in the Hall, I now sit on the Resource Development Committee, a wonderful organization which assists in re-entering Edmonton's street kids back into the work force, I am also an active member of the Rotary Club of Edmonton as well as doing volunteer work at my favorite radio station CKUA.
A Master Photographer, I received my accreditation in 1981, one of the youngest photographers in Canada to receive this award. For four consecutive years I have won Alberta's Wedding Album Competition for Photographic Excellence. I am also a recipient of the Fuji Masterpiece Award as well as the Kodak Gallery Award.
My goal is to provide you with the best quality photography, incorporating leading edge technology with creative workmanship at competitive prices.
For the past 14 years I have been the Official Office Manager/ Retouch Artist for Fred Katz. What does this auspicious title for one of the most successful photographers in Alberta entail? Well basically doing everything that Fred does not have time for. I lug backgrounds & lights around (good for my biceps Fred says), I assist on large commercial jobs and weddings (takes care of any social needs), I do a fair bit of the Marketing (I get to chit chat with many of our clients), and on special occasions I get to mind your children while you are busy planning your photography session with Fred.
In my spare time I have the dubious distinction of being Award Winning Fred Katz Exclusive Retouch Artist (this is where I can be as creative as you want me to be, see Richard Gere photo above!)
I devote the balance of all my time to being mother of three children (two of whom are adults and one who almost is) and memere to my new little grand-daughter Charlie Choo-Choo who I surprisingly (or not) fell in love with the moment she was born. I have been a volunteer with Cancer Mount for 14 years which fulfills the spiritual part of me, and as I move into the more "mature" part of my life, I fashion my lifestyle by incorporating a daily exercise program, eating a healthy diet and doing yoga to sooth my soul.
Nourish all the parts of your body and you will truly become full.
I thank you for letting me hold your babies and allowing me into a small part of your lives.
